Painted Viola Porphyry

In Stock and Ready to Ship

Porphyry is known as the Marble of the Kings and is named after the ancient Greek word for purple and is one of, if not the, hardest known stone in antiquity. It was prized for monuments and buildings in Imperial Rome and thereafter and is identified by it's purple-red color with small white and black crystals. Our painter, Judy, replicates this beautiful stone by hand for this table lamp and for select coffee table tops.

Our Giacometti Table Lamp in the style of Alberto Giacometti was originally made for Jean-Michel Frank.

The small lamp comes with 1x 250 watt socket, a harp with finial and a satisfying on/off switch. The large lamp comes with 2x watt sockets, a height-adjustable stem with finial and two separate on/off pull chains. The lamp base is cast plaster and fixed with the best quality antiqued-brass fittings. This listing is for the lamp alone and does not include a shade. For indoor use only. An RT Facts Design made by hand in our Kent, Connecticut workshop.
