A rare and magnificent, 18th Century English polished steel fire grate from Clarendon Court in Newport, Rhode Island. This grate features a filigreed apron, shaped back, and tapered legs adorned with engraved and handled finials. Below each front finial is the mask of a woman, and below the rear finials, a mask of lion. Engraved medallions and leaves are found throughout. In very good antique condition. An RT Facts find.
